ABA: 1 in 3 Law Firms Hacked

Do you think your firm is too small to be a likely target of cyber crime? Not so.

According to the ABA 2019 Legal Tech Report:
  • Malware and ransomware have infected 36 percent of law firms.
  • 26 percent have experienced security breaches.

The large majority of cyber attacks are automated shotgun blasts. Bots by the millions roam the entire internet probing for cracks in our defenses. Infected emails become more and more insidious. Computers of your friends and colleagues become jumping-off points for tricking and infecting you.

Cybercrime

Cyber-criminal bots don't care if you are in a small firm or solo law practice. They are happy to break in, steal or lock up your confidential client information, and blackmail you.

Over one third of law firms report being hit. Regarding the rest of us, the Director of FBI said:

"I am convinced that there are only two types of companies: those that have been hacked and those that will be."

By now every firm and organization has some form of antivirus protection. But given the success rate of infections and security breaches, typical defenses are insufficient.

Don't become another cyber crime victim. Protect yourself with state-of-the-art, cloud-based antimalware protection and ransomware-proof backups.

Write me or call me now to discuss what precautions you can take to secure your firm.
