Do you have a gap in your defenses against computer disasters? You can protect against a common threat by *creating* a gap!
Not all gaps are bad. A gap between your computers and your backups protects against viruses and ransomware. If your onsite backup device is connected to your computer or network, a virus can destroy both your original files and your backups.
Here are two ways to create good gaps:
- Use a cloud backup service. Ransomware and other malware can't cross over your connection to our cloud servers.
- Use special settings or utilities to make your onsite backup device (USB drive or NAS) invisible to malware.
